Who it's for
Fotona may suit you if you'd like to improve skin texture, fine lines, firmness, scarring or visible vessels, or if you're looking for a non-surgical option for hair thinning. Recent sun exposure, some medications and certain medical conditions can affect what's safe, so we review your history first.
What to expect
Every Fotona plan begins with a consultation. On treatment day, we'll prepare your skin and fit you with protective eyewear. Most treatments are well tolerated, and numbing may be used for more intensive procedures to help keep you comfortable. Many treatments take under an hour.
Downtime
It depends on the treatment. Many hair treatments involve little to no downtime, and 4D Facelift has minimal downtime. Resurfacing treatments can leave skin pink, warm or flaking for several days. We'll tell you exactly what to expect for your plan.
Common questions
How many Fotona sessions will I need?
It depends on the treatment and your goals. Many plans include a short series of sessions spaced several weeks apart. We'll recommend a number at your consultation.
Are Fotona treatments painful?
Comfort levels vary depending on the treatment, but most patients find Fotona treatments very manageable. You may feel a warming or tingling sensation, and numbing may be used for more intensive procedures to help minimize discomfort.
When is the best time of year for laser treatment?
Fall and winter are ideal for many Fotona laser treatments, especially those focused on skin resurfacing, pigmentation and rejuvenation. With less sun exposure, it's easier to protect your skin while it heals.
That said, many Fotona treatments can be safely performed throughout the year. At your consultation, we'll recommend the best timing based on your skin concerns, lifestyle and treatment goals.
